dryer runs when start button is held in but stops when its released fit new switch but no different timer runs and heats up just wont continue to run could it be the pcb relay

- with an induction motor a capacitor is required to start the motor turning. If the tumble dryer has reverse action then a relay is also reqired to get the motor to reverse its direction every few minutes. S oit would appear your relay is duff.
