Hob Thermocouple – 550mm

Gas powered cookers & hobs are often fitted with a safety feature called a thermocouple. It's important to keep this component in full working order as it measures heat, allowing it to tell when the pilot flame has gone out, as an extinguished pilot is a hazard.

Genuine spare part for select models of Bosch, Neff, Balay, Constructa and Siemens cookers.

Please check the suitable model fit list to ensure that this is the correct part for your appliance.

The thermocouple has to heat up before holding the gas, it is normally recommended to hold the control knob down for at least 10 seconds to allow enough time for the thermocouple to engage.

My Bosch hob (PCD655MEU/03) piezo ignition operates continually despite the burner being alight. Is the thermocouple likely to be the issue?

The ignition is stopped by the flame. Check the electrodes are clean and try disconnecting connections from the module to the electrodes. If this does not identify one faulty electrode replace the ignition generator itself.
