Check the oven selector switch has not 'welded' its contacts. If it is just the cooling fan then this may be the problem, Check when cold with a meter as there should be no connection until warm.

This part is responsible for turning on the cooling fan when the oven gets hot and running the fan until the oven cools.

The correct part for your oven is Stock Number: ES605942 and is likely to be responsible for the fault you describe.

Answer this question

I have an AEG double Oven cooker model D8800-5-M. The main oven when switched on gets hotter and hotter and when it is switched off the element (circular) glows red. The only way to turn it off is by switching the main cooker switch. When it has cooled right down the cooker can be turned on again. I have replaced the Main oven sensor and purchased two Thermal cut out units, but still the problem. If it is the thermostat, where is this and where can I purchase one. Hope this is clear - thanks.

The problem is likely to be a welded relay contact on the control board Stock Number: ES1024480. Unfortunately this part is no longer available so if you cannot identify and repair the faulty relay the appliance may be unrepairable.

The problem is likely to be the switch on the thermostat itself as it sounds like it is constantly closed and does not open to shut off the element.

This part turns the cooling fan on. If the thermostat light remains lit at 150cC and does not go of it would suggest if it is not a fan oven the fault may be a failed element. if it goes dead it is the cut out if the light cycles on and off it is likely to be the thermostat.

Answer this question

It burns food in minutes and have to turn off by main switch. If i use the top oven and grill, again the element (not the light) in the main oven below glows red and hot.

It sounds like the main thermostat has stuck and failed. The part you have highlighted is a cut in thermostat that controls the cooling fan during the cooling phase after cooking.
