Washing Machine Door Interlock

If your washing machine is not starting with the relevant lights lit on the fascia panel, then it could be because the door interlock has failed. Not only does this lock ensure the door is firmly closed, but it also works as a safety feature, by preventing the washer from running if the door is not securely shut.

With help from eSpares, you can soon be back to a safe and fully working washing machine again, so the pile of laundry does not start to stack up for you!

Check the position of the door lock, make sure the door does not need adjusting as the catch needs to go straight into the lock otherwise it does not connect.

Answer this question

No click when pressing start, door does not stay closed but very faint click after time delay after switching off so am assuming it is the door interlock.

Remove the door seal from the front and press the 'pips' that push through the front panel either side of he lock hole and slide the lock hole frame away from the door. It should then hinge/lift away. To fit the new lock hook the hole frame into the front panel and hinge/slide it into position until the 'pips' lock it in place.
